I hear there is another storm hitting the Northeast, and here I am at the Winter Olympics shooting slopestyle in a T-shirt. About 50 degrees here today in the mountains. Spent the day taking photo sequences near the top of ski slopestyle. The image above is a compilation of three of the skiers, including the gold medalist on the left, Josh Christensen, and the bronze medalist, Nicholas Goepper on the right. The dude in the middle, Henrik Harlaut from Sweden finished sixth and is in the composite because, well, he was one of the guys who went down the middle.
Here is a roundup of some of the interactive graphics that have appeared so far:
For those who remember my ski-chair fiasco at Copper Mountain trying to get video of Ted Ligety training on the race course there, here is the end result. (If you missed that little misadventure, you can find it in the list below, titled “Tis the Season”
Ted skis tomorrow in the combined (downhill and slalom) and next Wednesday in the giant slalom

The sliding track designers were in the middle of designing the track for Sochi when a luger was killed at the Vancouver Games. That led them to slow things down by putting in three uphill sections. After coming to Sochi last year and seeing it, I decided it would be a good idea to make an interactive graphic about it. And besides, it’s not everyday that you get to talk to a guy named Udo Gurgel, the guy who has been designing these things for the past six Winter Games.

Here is a fun one that I had very little to do with about the gear Olympians wear.
