Ciao! While Joey is busy making the ciambelles at work, I have the luxury of getting to know Milano.
Yesterday was art day as I headed to the Brera district which is an art and design area. Small streets with interesting shops. Only a few stops on the very easy to use Metro (the red line, yellow, green & lilac line – genius !)
Spent the morning at the “Pinacoteca di Brera” art museum, in an old palazzo used by Napoleon with a collection of Italian Renaissance & other painting masters. Happily for me the museum is also holding a show of Georgio Armani’s beautifully designed clothing, scattered amongst the artwork which makes for a modern, fresh look at the exhibits. The outfits up close are stunning in their execution & fabrics. (My mother would have loved this show!) Lunch & a caffè latte in the sunshine on the terrace, fifty seven degrees.

After a walk around the shops, a gelato (yes, Leigh siblings, with tops on the gelato containers. That’s how you know it’s a good gelato place — it keeps it at the proper temperature). A leisurely walk home in the evening, ended by watching Olympics on TV with Italian commentary while Joe is still on the frontlines with his camera.
